Ahhhh! That is exactly what emotion I feel right now. Down here in South Alabama, we are coming to the close of Spring Break 2010. But yet it has been so refreshing. Earlier in the week, my parents recruited my brother and I to do yard work. Not what I had in mind for starting off my spring break, but in doing it the Lord was showing me things. Alongside our new house were a bunch of bushes that needed to be pulled up. We were doing just fine until we came upon this one bush that simply gave us fits. When we thought we had the bush ready to be pulled, another root showed up. So we had to cut that root. Started going again and another root came up. It got frustrating how deep these roots went. But finally I found that root that gave me the freedom to rip that bush out of the crowd. I took off running in a victory dance and my family had a good laugh at me, but I realized something about our lives as believers. Sometimes there are things in our lives that we just need to shake off. These things hold us back in our lives and we can't make forward progress unless we let it go. We letting go and getting rid of are two different things. We can let go of sin all we want. But when we truly get rid of sin then we have freedom. So in your life and mine as well, get to the root of that problem. Cut it out and throw it away. Don't plant it back, because it maybe harder next time to cut it away. Have faith and believe that you can overcome anything in your life!
Matthew 15:13
He replied, "Every plant that my heavenly Father has not planted will be pulled up by the roots
